“Together We Believe in Better Care”

Una Health is proud to announce a transformative three-year partnership with Become, the leading charity dedicated to directly supporting and campaigning for children in care and young care leavers. Guided by our shared purpose—’Together We Believe in Better Care’—this partnership will create lasting impact by empowering young people, advocating for systemic change, and fostering a culture of care within Una Health.

Become works to ensure that children in care and young care leavers understand their rights and entitlements, so they can access the support they need now and in the future. The charity helps them develop crucial skills, pursue education and meaningful employment, and overcome the challenges they face. By providing direct support, advice, and campaigning for systemic change, Become seeks to create a care system that truly supports and uplifts all children and young people.

Laura Cartwright, Strategy Director at Una Health, shared her thoughts on the partnership: “We are incredibly proud to partner with Become and support their vital work. At Una Health, we believe in creating opportunities and advocating for meaningful change. This partnership is about more than financial support—it’s about actively engaging with young people, amplifying their voices, and ensuring they have the resources and guidance to build successful futures.”

A Commitment to Meaningful Change

Our three-year partnership signifies deep collaboration, bringing positive change to hundreds of care-experienced young people, while also shaping the culture within Una Health. Through a combination of colleague fundraising, central match-funding, and supply chain engagement, we aim to raise £30,000 over the three year partnership. This commitment positions Una Health as a significant funder and partner for Become, reinforcing our dedication to driving meaningful impact.

To kickstart our fundraising efforts, many Una Health employees will take on a 10-mile or 48k ultra walk on 28th June in the Peak District.

We are incredibly grateful to be partnering with Una Health over the next three years and are excited at the prospect of this being a brilliant partnership for our charity and our work with care-experienced young people.

I want to personally thank everyone at Una Health who chooses to donate time or money over the coming years. Together, Una Health and Become will support care-experienced young people today and fight for the changes needed so all young people in care get the love, support and stability they need.

Katharine Sacks-Jones, CEO of Become.

Supporting Career Pathways & Workplace Inclusion

This partnership goes beyond fundraising. Una Health will play an active role in Become’s frontline services, including Propel into Work, supporting young people in achieving their training, vocational, or career aspirations.

We are committed to creating a workplace that cares. Our colleagues will be trained to understand the lived experiences of children in care and care leavers, exploring ways to foster a supportive environment using trauma-informed principles. Additionally, Una Health will provide direct career support for care-experienced young people interested in healthcare technology and related fields through volunteering, career insight sessions, and mentoring opportunities.

A Shared Vision for a Brighter Future

Become envisions a future where care-experienced individuals have the same opportunities as everyone else to live happy, fulfilled lives. With Una Health’s commitment and collaboration, we are excited to play our part in making this vision a reality.

Stay tuned for updates on our partnership and how you can get involved in supporting this vital cause.
