Una Health Announces UK Distribution Partnership with ALCOR® Scientific for iSED® ESR Analysers

Una Health is pleased to announce a new distribution partnership with ALCOR® Scientific, bringing the innovative iSED® family of Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) analysers to laboratories across the UK.

The addition of the iSED range further strengthens Una Health’s haematology portfolio, providing laboratories with a modern alternative to traditional ESR testing that delivers faster turnaround times, greater workflow efficiency and significantly reduced hands-on time.

Supporting modern laboratory workflows

Despite being one of the oldest and most routinely requested laboratory tests, ESR remains an important marker for the investigation and monitoring of inflammatory, autoimmune and infectious conditions. However, traditional Westergren methods can be labour-intensive and place additional pressure on already stretched laboratory resources.

ALCOR Scientific’s iSED technology addresses these challenges by directly measuring red blood cell aggregation using photometric rheology, producing ESR results in just 15–20 seconds while maintaining a high correlation with the Westergren reference method. The systems also offer up to 96% less hands-on time compared with traditional ESR workflows.
