Product Overview
The B-LAC cassette gives results for pH, PO2, tHb, SO2 and LAC from whole blood, serum or plasma samples. pH determines the acidity and alkalinity of the blood, PO2 determines how well the lungs transfer oxygen to the blood, tHb determines the blood’s ability to transport CO2 and O2, SO2 determines the arterial oxygen saturation and finally, LAC (lactate) which is a product of cell metabolism. Elevated levels of lactate indicate ischemia and hypoxemia and is tested in patients developing a sepsis.
