Product Overview
The E-BUN cassette gives results for pH, PCO2, PO2, tHb, SO2, Na+, K+ and BUN from whole blood, serum or plasma samples. pH determines the acidity and alkalinity of the blood, PO2 determines how well the lungs transfer oxygen to the blood, PCO2 determines how well carbon dioxide leaves the body, tHb determines the blood’s ability to transport CO2 and O2, SO2 determines the arterial oxygen saturation, Na+ and K+ (sodium and potassium) determine electrolyte balance, or salt balance, and are necessary in controlling fluid movements within the body and BUN (blood urea nitrogen) measures the amount of nitrogen in the blood, which determines how well the patients’ kidneys are working.
