It is intended for screening and as an aid in the diagnosis of possible HSV infection.
Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) is an envelope DNA virus belonging to the Herpes virus family which has been characterized into two distinct serotypes, HSV 1 and HSV 2. Infection with HSV 1 typically causes oral infections, whereas HSV 2 typically affect genital or neonate infection.
